Some barcode scanning equipment does not give the scanning depth index in the technical index, but gives the scanning distance, namely the shortest distance that the scanning head allows to leave the barcode surface.

The scan width index refers to the physical length value of the barcode information that can be read by scanning the beam at a given scan distance.

The scanning speed is the scanning frequency of the scanning beam on the scanning track in unit time.
5. a recognition rate
A recognition rate is the ratio of the number of labels read in the first scan to the total number of scanned labels. For example, if the information to read a barcode label needs to be scanned two times, the rate of one recognition is 50%. From the practical application point of view, of course, hope that each scan can pass, but unfortunately, due to a variety of factors, it is impossible to request a recognition rate of 100%.

BER is an extremely important test indicator that reflects the error identification of a machine-identifiable label system. The error rate is equal to the ratio between the number of false recognition and the total number of recognition. For a barcode system, BER is a more serious problem than a low recognition rate.
